Foothills Community is a teaching church, first and foremost, committed to the inspired Word of God, the Bible, and a firm belief in its inerrancy. All our ministries are directed to increase the knowledge of God's Word in the lives of our people, that they might know Christ and live for His purpose and glory. Our services use contemporary music, drama, practical messages and other fresh approaches to present the fundamentals of the Christian faith. Our services are designed to help you learn how to apply Biblical
principles to everyday life.
Our Purpose
We believe the purpose of the church of Jesus Christ is to glorify and honor God, bringing people into harmony with Him and one another through fellowship, discipleship and evangelism. And that it exists to win and train people for God's redemptive purpose (Matthew 22:36-40; 28:19,20).
It is our goal to be balanced in our 5-Fold Purpose to ...
Communicate God's Word (Evangelism)
Celebrate God's Presence (Worship)
Assimilate God's Family (Fellowship)
Educate God's People (Discipleship)
Demonstrate God's Love (Ministry)

Meet Our Staff Team
Our pastor, Dr. Samuel E. Tillery III, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and a Master of Pastoral Studies degree from International College and Graduate School of Theology in Honolulu, and the Doctor of Ministry degree from the California Graduate School of Theology. Pastor Sam, his wife, Dee, and their two children, Sammy and Marlene, came to Foothills in November 1987.
Pastor Sam and Dee were married in 1972 in Honolulu, Hawaii. They ministered in Hawaii until they moved to San Jose in 1983 to pastor a church. From there they moved to Redding, CA where Pastor Sam was the Dean of Field Ministries for Shasta Bible College until we asked him to come be our senior pastor in 1987. Dee’s passion is working with animals of all kinds. She volunteered for Canine Companions for many years with service and breeder dogs and working full time for an equine veterinarian. Both of their children are away from home in college and continue to support the work here at Foothills with their prayers, visits and participation in mission trips when available.
Pastor Sam’s teaching style is contemporary, using everyday examples to demonstrate God’s truth, making it easy to understand and relate to one’s own life. Pastor Sam is very approachable having an open door policy to anyone that would like to speak with him and offering practical biblical counsel to those requesting it. A visionary, he looks at the big picture of our county-wide need for Jesus Christ. For that reason he is an active participant in the Sonoma County Pastors’ Prayer and Ministry Alliance, and has been serving as its President for a number of years

Our Director of Pastoral Care Ministries, Jeanet McCrummen, has been a member of this church since she and her husband, Ed, were married in 1971. They are blessed with three grown children and 5 grandchildren.
Jeanet began working for this church as the part-time secretary in 1982 and went to full-time in 1987 continuing to serve in that capacity until additional staff came on. The position of Director of Pastoral Care Ministries is relatively new for Foothills. The ministry goal of this position is to care for and shepherd the body of believers and those coming to Foothills seeking the Lord. Equipping and mobilizing the body to minister and care for it’s various needs. We believe relationship is important to each person and to God, so part of caring for the body is contacting and helping people connect and feel a part of serving the Foothills family. Assisting in counseling and keeping in contact with the ministry leaders is also part of the position of Dir. of Pastoral Care.
Our Church Administrator, Dwayla Crandall, has been at Foothills since 1994. Dwayla and her husband, Doug, have been married since 1982 and have three grown daughters, a grandson and a granddaughter.
Dwayla came on staff part-time as Children’s Director in 1998 and shortly after also began assisting Jeanet in the office. God was grooming Dwayla during her training time in the office with secretarial responsibilities to become our Church Administrator in 2004. She could use her own assistant as she oversees the administration of the church finances, facilities, working with the various ministry leaders, and all of the scheduling that takes place here at Foothills.
Foothills Community is a church that exists to serve you. We are committed to teaching the Word of God. We want you to know that we care about you and your family. Our desire as a church is to offer any assistance we can toward your spiritual and personal growth.
